Sediments Off Eastern Coast of Argentina

43.7S 63.3W

September 7th, 2011 Category: Sediments, Volcanoes

Argentina - September 4th, 2011

Sediments line the eastern coast of Argentina, giving a greenish tinge to the waters near Peninsula Valdes (above) and in San Jorge Gulf (below).

Over the Atlantic Ocean east of the peninsula, a tan veil hangs in the air. This may be volcanic ash from the Puyehue-Cordón Caulle volcanic eruption in Chile, still blowing eastward and hovering in the air.
