This FAPAR image shows the Fraction of Absorbed Photosynthetically Active Radiation of the southeastern USA. Visible states include: (from top to bottom along the coast) North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida, as well as (from top to bottom inland) Tennessee and Alabama.

In FAPAR images, the color spectrum over land runs from red (1.0, highest photosynthetic activity), to green, to yellow and white (0.0, lowest activity). Here, most of the land visible is light green, although a substantial yellow area can be observed near the tip of Florida and around the city of Atlanta (upper left quadrant).
