This FAPAR image shows the vegetation index of Queensland, Australia, focusing on the Cape York Peninsula. The highest photosynthetic activity is present at the northern tip of the peninsula and along the paths of the various rivers that cross the peninsula.

Areas of high photosynthetic activity are rusty red in color, while good activity is indicated by the color green and low activity by the color yellow. Here, most areas of low activity are located far from the rivers’ paths.
