Vegetation Index of India Higher by Western Coast10.5N 76.3E
This FAPAR image shows the vegetation index of central and southern India. The index is generally low (yellow), however it becomes slightly higher (green) as one moves southward.
The highest index, ranging from good (green) to high (rusty red) can be observed along the west coast. This area is the coastal plains between the shoreline and the slopes of the Western Ghats.
