This FAPAR image shows the vegetation index of part of Eastern China. The full image stretches from near the Bohai Sea in the north to the Gulf of Tonkin in the south.

The majority of the image appears green, indicating a good index of photosynthetic activity. Areas of low activity (yellow) can be observed to the northwest and southwest.

The area of highest activity (rusty red) can be observed on the fertile plain in the upper right corner. The small yellow circles dotted across the plain indicate the locations of towns and cities.
