This FAPAR image shows the vegetation index of the Arnhem Land Region, one of the five regions of the Northern Territory of Australia. It is located in the north-eastern corner of the territory and has an area of 97,000 km.

The land near the coast and on  Groote Eylandt (the large island in the Gulf of Carpentaria) shows a good vegetation index (green), while the land further inland has a low index (yellow) of photosynthetic activity.
