This FAPAR image shows the vegetation index of central-southern USA, including states such as Texas and Oklahoma. A small part of the Gulf of Mexico can be seen in the lower right hand corner.

The vegetation index becomes progressively higher as one moves from the southwest to the northeast: the lower left side of the image shows the lowest index of photosynthetic activity (white to light yellow), while the upper right side shows the highest index (dark green to red).
