This FAPAR image shows the vegetation index by the border between Mexico (below) and Texas (above) along the Gulf of Mexico (right). The index is substantially higher along the coastline than inland.

Near the coast, photosynthetic activity is generally good (green) while it becomes lower (yellow) as one moves westward, further inland. Some areas of high photosynthetic activity (rusty red) are visible in the lower part of the image in more mountainous areas.
