Good Photosynthetic Activity Along Mexico’s Coasts

This FAPAR image shows the vegetation index of Mexico. A band of good photosynthetic activity, evidenced by the green false-coloring, can be observed along the southern coastline, by the Pacific Ocean.

Although clouds hug the northern coastline, along the Gulf of Mexico, obscuring much of the land below, some more intense green areas of good activity can be seen there as well. Most of the central part of the country shows a low index (yellow).
