This FAPAR image shows the vegetation index of the Yucatán Peninsula. The peninsula comprises the Mexican states of Yucatán, Campeche, and Quintana Roo; the northern part of the nation of Belize; and Guatemala’s northern El Petén Department.

Photosynthetic activity is generally mixed between good (green) and high (rusty red) across the peninsula, with some areas of concentrated higher activity to the south and some areas of low activity (yellow) along the northern coast.

This FAPAR image shows the vegetation index of the Yucatán Peninsula, in Mexico and Belize, the northern part of Honduras, and the central and western parts of Cuba.

The vegetation index throughout most of the Yucatán Peninsula is very high (rusty red), with some areas of lower yet still good (green) activity along its northern coastline and by Belize. Honduras and Cuba show mixed but predominately good levels of photosynthetic activity.

This FAPAR image shows the vegetation index of part of the Yucatán Peninsula, in Mexico. The western coastline near Campeche, above the Términos Lagoon, is framed by greenish sediments.

The land visible shows levels of photosynthetic activity that range from good (green) to high (rusty red). Some areas of low activity (yellow) can be observed near the bottom edge.
