At 5:00 PM AST (21:00 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Shary  (20L) was located near latitude 39.2 North, longitude 50.9 West. Shary is racing toward the northeast near 48 mph (78 km/hr) and this general motion is expected to continue until the system becomes absorbed by a cold front Saturday night.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 70 mph (110 km/hr), with higher gusts. Continued weakening is expected. Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 140 miles (220 km) from the center. Estimated minimum central pressure is 991 mb (29.26 inches).
