A non-tropical low organized sufficient convection to be classified as Subtropical Storm Sean on November 8. Shortly after its designation, Sean began to acquire fully tropical characteristics, and was officially considered a tropical storm three hours later.

As of 7 p.m. EST November 9 (2100 UTC November 10), Tropical Storm Sean was located within 30 nautical miles of 29.1°N 70.5°W, about 405 mi (650 km) southwest of Bermuda. Maximum sustained winds are 55 knots (65 mph, 100 km/h), with stronger gusts.

Minimum central pressure is 991 mbar (hPa; 29.26 InHg), and the system is moving north at 5 kt (6 mph, 9 km/h). Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 290 miles (465 km) from the center of Sean.
