At 11:00 PM AST (0300 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Ophelia was located near latitude 19.4 north, longitude 60.7 west. Ophelia is moving toward the northwest near 6 mph (9 km/h) and a track toward the north-northwest and north is expected over the next couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 60 mph (95 km/h) with higher gusts. Gradual strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Ophelia could become a hurricane by Friday.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 105 miles (165 km) from the center. Estimated minimum central pressure is 995 mb (29.38 inches).
