Track of TS 13W

Tropical Storm 13W, located approximately 190 nautical miles north of Saipan, has tracked west-southwestward at 04 knots over the past six hours. Maximum significant wave height at is 12 feet.

The system will continue to strengthen slowly, and is expected to be at typhoon strength in 2-3 days’ time. The maximum intensity, upon passing Iwo To, is anticipated at 95 knots. A turn to the northeast will be accompanied by extra-tropical transitioning.
