As of 11 p.m. AST September 20 (0300 UTC September 21), Tropical Depression Fourteen (14L) was located within 30 nautical miles of 17.1°N 31.9°W, about 530 mi (830 km) west of the Cape Verde islands.

Maximum sustained winds are 30 knots (35 mph, 55 km/h), with stronger gusts. Minimum central pressure is 1006 mbar (hPa; 29.71 InHg), and the system is moving north at 5 kt (6 mph, 9 km/h). Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and the depression is forecast to become a tropical storm on Tuesday.
