On October 6th, Tropical Storm Norbert was officially upgraded to hurricane status. As of 8:00PM yesterday it was located about 315mi (510km) south-southwest of Manzanillo, Colima. According to the U.S. National Hurricane Center, it is moving west-northwest at 7 knots (8mph, 13km/h), and is expected to continue along that heading. It has maximum sustained winds of 65 knots (75mph, 120 km/h), with stronger gusts, and a minimum central pressure of 987 millibars (29.15 inches). Although Hurricane Norbert is expected to gain in strength over the next 2 days, it is of no immediate threat to land.
