Track of Hilda

Tropical Storm Hilda is intensifying and moving westward on a track far south of Hawaii. As of 11:00 PM HST (0900 UTC) the center of the system was located about 815 miles east-southeast of Hilo, Hawaii and about 1025 miles east-southeast of Honolulu, Hawaii.

Hilda is moving toward the west near 12 mph and this general motion is expected to continue over the next two days.

Maximum sustained winds are near 65 mph with higher gusts. Slow intensification is expected in the next 48 hours, with Hilda forecast to become a hurricane by Tuesday.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 80 miles from the center. Estimated minimum central pressure is 999 mb (29.50 inches).
