Low Pressure System

A broad area of low pressure located over the far eastern Atlantic about 325 miles northwest of the Cape Verde islands is producing minimal shower activity (click here for previous images of this system).

The low is moving over cool waters, and significant development is not anticipated during the next couple of days. This system has a low chance (10 percent) of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours as it moves west-northwestward at about 20 mph. Visible in the upper right corner (best observed upon opening full image) is some dust blowing off the coast of West Africa.
