Tropical Cyclone 06S (Dongo) is located approximately 860 nautical miles east-southeast of La Reunion. It has tracked southward at 17 knots over the past 6 hours.

Animated imagery depicts reduced convection wrapping into the low-level circulation center, with remnants of central convection sheared to its east.

The current central wind speed is 35 knots, with higher gusts of up to 45 knots.

The system is being influenced by the midlatitude trough and the baroclinic zone to the southwest. It has increased in speed and has begun extratropical transition.

Dongo is expected to continue to track south-southeastward along the western edge of a midlevel ridge, rapidly weaken and become extratropical by TAU 24.

Maximum significant wave height is 17 feet.
