Tropical Cyclone 06B (Nisha) Moves Inland
In this image courtesy of the JTWC we can see Tropical Cyclone 06B (Nisha) as it is about to make landfall over southern India.
The cyclone is located approximately 95 nautical miles south-southwest of Chennai, India; it has tracked west-northwestward at 5 knots over the past 6 hours.
Recent imagery indicates that Nisha has moved inland and its convective bands are rapidly disspating.
It is expected to weaken below tropical cyclone intensity by Tau 24 as it interacts with the rugged terrain of southeastern India.
Current dynamic models indicate that the remnants of 06B will track west-northwestward across India and will move into the eastern Arabian Sea after Tau 24.
