Tropical Cyclone 04S (Cinda), located approximately 395 nautical miles southwest of Diego Garcia, has tracked south-southeastward at two knots over the past six hours.

Maximum significant wave height is 12 feet.

The initial intensity of 50 knots is based on satellite intensity fixes from KNES, FMEE and PGTW that range from 45 to 55 knots.

Vertical wind shear remains low to moderate over the system and favorable south-easterly diffluence aloft twoard the aforementioned trough has allowed the system to intensify.

It has slowly tracked to the south-southeast under the influence of a transient mid-level trough poleward of the system.

04S is expected to slowly turn to the south-southwest and then more southwestward as the trough moves to the East and the subtropical ridge builds south of it.

The system will intensify slightly over the next 24 hours and then intensification will be limited by reduced poleward outflow.
