As of 11 a.m. AST (1500 UTC) October 8, Hurricane Otto (17L) was located within 30 nautical miles of 24.8°N 65.5°W, about 520 mi (835 km) south of Bermuda.

Maximum sustained winds are 60 knots (70 mph, 110 km/h), with stronger gusts. Minimum central pressure is 986 mbar (hPa; 29.12 InHg), and the system is moving at 12 kt (14 mph, 22 km/h).

Hurricane force winds extend outward up to approximately 30 statute miles from the center of Otto, with tropical storm force winds extending much further outward.
