As of 5 p.m. AST (2100 UTC September 29), Tropical Storm Nadine (14L) is located within 20 nautical miles of 34.4°N 36.7°W, about 595 mi (955 km) west-southwest of the Azores.

Maximum sustained winds are 70 knots (80 mph, 130 km/h), with stronger gusts. Minimum central pressure is 987 mbar (hPa; 29.15 InHg), and the system is moving north-northwest at 13 kt (15 mph, 24 km/h). Hurricane force winds extend up to 30 miles (45 km) from the center of Nadine, and tropical storm force winds up to 115 miles (185 km) from the center.
