As of 11 p.m. AST September 24 (0300 UTC September 25), Hurricane Lisa (14L) is located within 30 nautical miles of 20.7°N 27.9°W, about 415 mi (665 km) northwest of the Cape Verde islands.

Maximum sustained winds are 70 knots (80 mph, 130 km/h), with stronger gusts. Minimum central pressure is 987 mbar (hPa; 29.15 InHg), and the system is moving north at 7 kt (8 mph, 12 km/h).

Lisa is a small hurricane; hurricane force winds extend outward up to 10 miles (20 km) from the center of Lisa, and tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km) from the center.
