Tunisia - March 23rd, 2011

The city of Sousse, in northeastern Tunisia, appears as a bright green area by the shores of the Gulf of Hammamet in the upper right corner. Another city, Kairouan, covering a smaller geograhical area, can be seen at the center left edge.

The large, dark area in the lower half of the image is the Sebkhet Sidi El Hani Wetland. Often difficult to see in true-color satellite images as it blends in with the surrounding terrain when water levels are low, in this false-colored APM it stands out against the surrounding terrain.
