Arabian Peninsula – June 17th, 2013

Dust continues to blow about the Arabian Peninsula. Here, it is most concentrated over the southern part of the Red Sea (lower left), Yemen, Oman and the Gulf of Aden (lower right). Some plumes can also been seen blowing southward over the Persian Gulf (upper right).

Arabian Peninsula – June 12th, 2013

Dust blows in the air over and around the Arabian Peninsula, covering the southern half of the Red Sea (left) and part of the Persian Gulf, near Qatar (upper right), where a thicker dust plume blows northwest-souteast. The veil of dust also extends southward over the Gulf of Aden and Arabian Sea (lower right).

Red Sea – June 9th, 2013

Dust hangs over the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, which connects the Red Sea (upper left) to the Gulf of Aden (right). The dust is most concentrated over the nation of Djibouti and southern Eritrea, by the entrance to the strait itself, although it also veils parts of Yemen, Ethiopia and Somalia.

A plume of dust blows in a diagonal line across northern Saudi Arabia and Jordan in the upper half of this image. Visible southeast of the plume is an area of circular, irrigated fields near the town of Tabarjal, in northern Saudi Arabia. In the full image, dust can be seen spreading over the southern part of the Red Sea as well.

Saudi Arabia – March 26th, 2013

Dust blows from Saudi Arabia westward across the Red Sea. In the full image, dust can also be seen blowing across the Persian Gulf, to the east, and a fire is visible in Iraq, near the mouth of the Shatt al-Arab, on the northern end of the gulf.
