Track of TS 20W

Tropical Storm Nesat (20W), located approximately 25 nm north-northeast of Hanoi, Vietnam, has tracked west-northwestward at 07 knots over the past six hours.

Animated infrared satellite imagery depicts rapidly decaying deep convection due to land interaction.
However, an SSMIS image continues to depict a well-defined, but shallow low-level circulation center (LLCC).

The current intensity is assessed at 45 knots. Sustained surface winds reported at Hanoi are only 10-15 knots with SLP near 1004 mb.

TS 20W is forecast to continue tracking west-northwestward and should dissipate between TAU 12 and TAU 24. This track is supported by the dynamic model guidance. The system will be closely monitored for signs of regeneration.
