Many different lakes are visible here as dark blue patches separated by green areas. Lake Upemba is the largest blue section visible, near the center of the image. The lake is located in Bukama, Haut-Lomami Province. It has various floating islands in the lake, including Mitala Island, which are also the site of an informal refugee settlement.
