Southwestern Coast of Greenland in Summer
The coastline of Greenland visible here stretches from Disko Island, or Qeqertarsuaq, at the top left, to the town of Paamiut towards the lower right.
Many fjords are visible along this part of the country’s western coastline, appearing various shades of turquoise and tan. Further inland, the terrain is covered by the central ice sheet and white snow.
In this image, the coastal areas are mostly free of snow due to the higher summer temperatures. Please click here to see an image of the same area taken in spring, with the coast blanketed by snow.
