Phytoplankton Bloom Persists Between India and Sri Lanka
A phytoplankton bloom has persisted in the Palk Strait, between Sri Lanka and India.
The bloom was first observed on this website in an image from December, 2008 (click here for original article).
When the location was revisited in January (original article here), the bloom had increased in breadth and intensity.
Now, in this image from February, the bloom has diminished in size and concentration. The Palk Strait is clearer, and little growth is present along the northern shore of Sri Lanka.
