Heavy Rains Persist, Sediments Pool Along Sicilian Coast
As heavy rains persist over Italy and Sicily, rivers continue to release large amounts of sediments into the sea.
In a previous article, the sediments by the eastern and northern Sicilian coasts were examined; today, the lack of cloud cover to the south allows a different area to be observed.
Here, the southern Sicilian coast is framed by sediments, particularly around Licata and Gela. The sediments are in turn ringed by an algal bloom.
