Cuba - September 9th, 2011

The island-nation of Cuba stretches across the lower half of this image; visible to the north are the Bahamas and the Florida Peninsula (USA).

The areas where the sea appears lighter blue are areas of shallower waters. Around the Bahamas, these shallow areas are known as the Bahama Banks – limestome platforms that drop off abruptly to incredible depths.
