Cornwallis Island, Canada - November 26th, 2008

We can see several islands in the Canadian Arctic Archipelago (the part of Canada north of the Arctic Circle), in the province of Nunavut, in this radar image.

The largest landmass visible is Cornwallis Island (upper left) and the small island below is Griffith Island. We can also see a small portion of Devon Island (upper right) and Somerset Island (lower right).

The frozen waterways visible are the Parry Channel (below) and the Wellington Channel (right). Thanks to the radar we can see the ice covering these waters.
