Santiago de Cali, visible in the upper left corner of this orthorectified image, is a city in western Colombia and the capital of the Valle del Cauca Department. With a population of 2,068,386, it is the third largest city in the country.
Cali, as it is usually called, is located on the Cauca Valley to the west of the Cauca River and to the east of the Cordillera Occidental, near the hills known as Farallones de Cali. The city rests approximately 1,000 meters (3,280 ft.) above sea level and its topography is fairly flat.
