Bahía Concepción in Mexican State of Baja California Sud26.8N 111.9W
Bahía Concepción, left of center, is one of the largest bays in the Mexican state of Baja California Sud, south of Mulege. The waters of the bay fill the area between the Baja mainland and the rocky, barren peninsula of Concepción.
The bay’s west coast is lined by sandy beaches, and its waters tend to be shallow, temperate and calm. Some beaches provide a winter home to snowbirds from colder latitudes.
The contours of the mountains and hills south and west of the bay can be observed without geometric distortion in this orthorectified image. Some of the peaks reach heights of over 1000 meters.
