Brazil and Bolivia - July 28th, 2009

The bright orange and brown farmland of the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso is crossed by the dark green forks of a river. To the west, in the state of Rondônia, some areas of dark green rainforest are interrupted by large patches of deforestation.

Below these deforested areas is the border with Bolivia and the dark green rainforest of the Noel Kempff Mercado National Park, in the north-eastern portion of Brazil’s Santa Cruz Department, Province of José Miguel de Velasco.
