Fields stretch on for kilometers and kilometers in the Brazilian state of Bahia, (right) along the border with the states of Tocantins (left, above) and Goais (left, below).

The border is clearly visible as a line running through the center of the image. The land in Tocantins and Goais is dark green, while that of Bahia is tan and brown.

The border is actually marked by a steep 200 meter drop-off, from an 800 to 1000 meter high plateau on the Bahia side, down to the Tocantins and Goais terrain at an elevation of 600 meters or less.
