This APM image shows the Kampong Som Bay in Cambodia. The Kampong Som River can be seen entering the bay at the upper right corner. Visible on the southeastern shores of the bay is a port in the province of Sihanoukville, appearing here as a yellow area.

Visible at the lower reaches of the bay is Koh Rong, the second largest island of Cambodia. It is located in Koh Kong Province about 25 kilometers off the Sihanoukville’s coast in the Gulf of Thailand, and has an area of approximately 78 km2.

Visible on the right side of this APM image, off the coast of Tanzania, is Zanzibar, a semi-autonomous part of Tanzania, in East Africa. It comprises the Zanzibar Archipelago in the Indian Ocean, 25–50 kilometres (16–31 mi) off the coast of the mainland.

The archipelago consists of numerous small islands and two large ones: Unguja (the main island, informally referred to as Zanzibar), and Pemba. Zanzibar is mainly low lying, its highest point is 120 metres. It is 108 km long and 32 .km wide, with an area of 2,461 km2 (950 sq mi).

This APM image shows Ramanathapuram District, an administrative district of Tamil Nadu state in southern India. The city of Ramanathapuram is the district headquarters. Ramanthapuram District has an area of 4123 km².

It is bounded on the north by Sivaganga District, on the northeast by Pudukkottai District, on the east by the Palk Strait, on the south by the Gulf of Mannar, on the west by Thoothukudi District, and on the northwest by Virudhunagar District.

The district contains the Pamban Bridge, an east-west chain of low islands and shallow reefs that extend between India and the island nation of Sri Lanka, and separate the Palk Strait from the Gulf of Mannar. The Palk Strait is presently navigable only by shallow-draft vessels.

The city of Bangalore appears as an expansive yellow area in the lower left quadrant of this APM image. Seventy kilometers to the northwest, near the left edge of the image, lies the smaller city of Tumkur.

Bangalore (also known as Bengaluru) is the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka. It is located in the heart of the Mysore Plateau (a region of the larger Deccan Plateau) in the south-eastern part of Karnataka. Bangalore is India’s third most populous city and fifth-most populous urban agglomeration.

This APM image shows the island of Siberut, the largest and northernmost of the Mentawai Islands, lying 150 kilometres west of Sumatra, Indonesia, in the Indian Ocean.

The east coast of the island has many islets, bays and coral reefs, while the west coast has many steep cliffs. The hilly interior of the island elevates to 384 metres.

Smaller islands adjacent to Siberut include Karamajet and Masokut which lie in the Bungalaut strait at the south of the island.
