Argentina- June 29th, 2010

The Rio de la Plata estuary appears bright tan and brown due to the heavy sediment load from the Uruguay and Paraná Rivers. Several channels of the latter can be seen in the full image near the start of the estuary.

The cities of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Montevideo, Uruguay, are visible along the shoreline. Buenos Aires appears as a grey area on the lower shores of the estuary, while Montevideo is situated further east on the opposite coast.
