Sediments line the western side of the Yucatán Peninsula, in Mexico. In the full image, the Términos Lagoon, by the coast, appears bright green from sediments and algal growth.

The Isthmus of Tehuantepec, however, shows considerably fewer sediments on both sides. It is located between the Gulf of Campeche to the north, and the Gulf of Tehuantepec to the south. The northern side shows a bit more sedimentary presence than the southern side.
