Golden tan sediments from the Nelson River spill into Hudson Bay, Canada. The Nelson is a river of north-central North America, in the Canadian province of Manitoba.

Its full length is 2575 km, it has mean discharge of 2370 m3/s, and has a drainage basin of 892300 km2, of which 180000 km is in the United States. The river drains Lake Winnipeg and runs 644 km before it ends in Hudson Bay.
