Great Barrier Reef Near Broad Sound, Australia

22S 150.3E

February 10th, 2011 Category: Rivers, Sediments

Australia - January 24th, 2011

Despite some scattered clouds, part of the Great Barrier Reef is visible off the coast of Queensland, Australia. The parts of the reef appear teal in color and lie parallel to the coast.

Moving back to the shoreline, tan sediments from the Styx River can be seen flowing into Broad Sound. The Sound is a large bay on the east coast of Australia. The Torilla Peninsula forms the eastern side of the bay; Shoalwater Bay is on the other side of the peninsula.
