Argentina - April 14th, 2012

Sediments line the coast of Argentine Patagonia near Tierra del Fuego, on the left side of this image. Visible to the east are the Falkland Islands, known as the Islas Malvinas in Argentina. The archipelago is located over 250 nautical miles (460 km; 290 mi) east of the coast of mainland Argentina. It comprises East Falkland, West Falkland, and 776 lesser islands. Stanley, the capital and only city, is on East Falkland.
