Spain - December 25th, 2010

Sediments spill forth from the Ebro Delta and into the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Spain. The Ebro River appears as a dark line cutting through the center of the delta.

The Ebro Delta is located in the Province of Tarragona, Catalonia. It is one of the largest wetland areas (320 kmĀ²) in the western Mediterranean region, and has expanded rapidly on soils washed downriver.
