Spain - May 4th, 2011

Even as the northern hemisphere summer approaches, the peaks of the Pyrenees remain capped in snow. The mountain range runs along the border between France and Spain.

Moving southward to flatter terrain, the Ebro Delta can be seen on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. One of the most important rivers in the Iberian Peninsula, it is the biggest river by discharge volume in Spain. Here, sediments can be seen seeping out of the delta region and into the sea.
