USA - October 21st, 2010

This image shows a large area of the southern and eastern parts of the United States of America. In the bottom left corner,  New Orleans and the Mississippi River Delta in Louisiana can be observed, while the bottom right corner is occupied by the Florida Peninsula. The Gulf of Mexico stretches between the two.

The dark brown areas further inland belong to the Appalachian Mountains. In the full image, the city of Atlanta is easily spotted as a grey area south of the mountains. The left edge of the image appears light brown; this is the land in the Mississippi River Valley, much of which is used for farming.
