The Rann of Kutch, India - January 20th, 2009

Sediments, surrounded by an algal or phytoplankton bloom, spill from the mouth of the Indus River into the Gulf of Kutch, and gather along the coasts of India and Pakistan.

Inland, the Rann of Kutch, a seasonally marshy region in the Thar Desert between India and Pakistan, is visible in white in the upper right quadrant.
