September 12th, 2011 Category: Rivers

Brazil - August 12th, 2011

Visible near the left edge of this image of Brazil is the Paraná River, flanked by various artificial reservoirs created by hydroelectric dams.

Moving eastward to the sediment-lined coast, the cities of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro can be seen been the patches of clouds. The former appears as a large, greyish tan expanse, while the latter can be viewed along the western shores of Guanabara Bay.
