Rivermouths Along Coast of Georgia, USA
Here, the coastline of the state of Georgia, USA, is visible along the Atlantic Ocean from its northern border with South Carolina and its southern border with Florida.
The northern part of the state is in the Blue Ridge Mountains, which give way to the central piedmont region extending from the foothills to the fall line. Here, rivers cascade down in elevation to the continental coastal plain of the southern part of the state. The coastline contains many salt marshes, estuaries and bays.
Here, many rivers can be seen spilling yellow and brown sediments into the Atlantic Ocean. The colors in the rivermouths almost seem to alternate, depending on the dark or light sediments carried by the rivers.
