Canada - December 30th, 2010

The Ottawa River passes between the cities of Ottawa and Gatineau in this orthorectified image of Canada. Ottawa is the capital of Canada and lies on the southern banks, while Gatineau lies directly across the river along the northern banks.

The Ottawa River defines the border between the provinces of Ontario and Quebec along most of its length. After flowing southeast to Ottawa and Gatineau, it tumbles over the Chaudière Falls and further takes in the Rideau and Gatineau rivers.
